Day 1 of BBBC

I'm really glad that I decided to wait until this morning to write my post on day one of Tina's Best Body Boot Camp.  Last night, I was feeling pretty disappointed in myself that I didn't push myself hard enough through using bigger weights or pushing harder on the cardio.

But today, I rest my case.  I am sore.  Not horrible, unbearable sore, but that kind of sore where every time you move, you feel a little tension and get a smile on your face because it reminds you of a good workout you had.

While this is only day two of BBBC, I am in love already.  From what I can see, a lot of the workouts revolve around circuit style.  I have never been able to grasp circuit style since I usually go to the gym with a friend or two and take too long of rests or if I'm by myself, I find it difficult to push myself through the entire circuit without resting.  Yesterday's workout took exactly an hour, yet it only felt like half (if that).

I left the gym feeling sweaty and warm :)

This shirt = AWESOME ;)

Before I do the next workout after work today, I will definitely take the time to sit down and read through the workout description.  While I had the sheet to look at with me yesterday, I was so rushed at work all day and did not have any time to read through specific instructions for each move.  Once I heard what some of those instructions were through other people doing the BBBC, I regretted not following the workout perfectly (not a huge deal but that's just the OCD in me).

Today at the gym, I am weighing in for the Chippewa Valley JAM in to a Healthier You Challenge!

JAM in to a Healthier You! - The Chippewa Valley Challenge

To be a part of the challenge, you pay $5 and go to any gym to weigh in.  You don't have to be a member of a gym to participate in this challenge, which I think is great.  Participants weigh in again in Februrary, March, and April.  All participants who lose at least 10% of their body weight will qualify for the second part of the challenge.  If you maintain your weight loss until July 15th, you will be qualified for the grand prize.  You will receive a general admission ticket to Country Jam if you maintain the weight loss.  Depending on what gym you did your initial weigh-in at, if you are the person at that gym who lost the greatest percentage of weight loss, you will receive a free one-year membership at that location! :)

While I highly doubt I'll even be a finalist since I do not have a drastic amount of weight to lose, I figured it would be a fun program to participate in for only $5 and a chance to win some sweet prizes!  It will also hold me accountable to lose extra pounds before the weigh ins!

Anyone else participating in the JAM Challenge?  I'm really hoping I can convince my mom to join since she could kick butt in the challenge! :)

  1. My sister, mom and myself are doing the challenge. I can't wait to start! :) even if I just get a free jam ticket out of the deal, I'll be good. Getting in shape and having a healthier lifestyle are even better :)

    1. That's awesome Kori! :) I hope you all do fantastic! I like that there is a weigh in to look forward to each month - that will keep me motivated to have a big loss!

    2. I don't think I could do super well in the challenge if there was just one in April and then another in July. Once a month definitely keeps me on track :) good luck!
